Help! I Can't Dress My Body |
Do You Have a Bit of a Belly? |
The key to fitting the figure with a bit of a belly is to give the illusion of curves and to detract from the belly. Jackets will become your new best friend when you are trying to fit your belly. One with structure and flattering seams will help create the hourglass silhouette illusion. It should also have a slight flair at the top of the hip. Your dress choices can emphasize or de-emphasize your tummy. A straight sheath style may not be a good choice because it makes you look straight up and down and emphasizes a thick waist, but an empire seam draws the eye to the smallest part of the waist and the flair of the a-line gives the illusion of curves.
